Nairobi Governor Sonko donates Sh1 Million to Kawangware victims

Sonko made his donation through Kameme Fm’s charity initiatve dubbed “Restoring Hope”. The million shillings is meant to assist all victims of the violence from both NASA and Jubilee party restore their torched houses and shops.

Last week three people were killed and dozens were severely injured after violence amongst armed rival youths broke out in Kawangware.

The battle between NASA and Jubilee supporters left many stalls being burned while shops and houses were looted.

The anti-riot police engaged the youth in running battles last Friday while trying to calm the situation.
