Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked Deputy President Uhuru Kenyatta to give the Directorate of Criminal Investigations time to conclude investigations into the ongoing dams saga.

Mr Musyoka cautioned politicians against politicising the war on corruption.

I would like to advise my brother William [Ruto] to stop saying there is no corruption at all. Allow the independent agencies to conclude investigations because constant tongue-lashing of the DCI," the Wiper leader said.

Ruining legacy

According to Mr Musyoka, the DP's words on the Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal could ruin the President's legacy if not handled well.

He called on President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration to liaise with the Italian government to unravel CMC di Ravenna went bankrupt although they had been given Sh536 million.

DP Ruto had rubbished allegations that Ksh21 billion had been lost in the phantom dams project maintaining that only Ksh7 billion was missing in the scandal.

He maintained that their government was responsible and committed to the war on graft and the vice should be fought with factual information.

You have heard that the government has lost Ksh.21 billion in Kimwarer and Arror dams which is a flat lie," Dr Ruto stated.

"The money in question is about Ksh.7 billion and for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee,” he added.

Early Tuesday morning Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich was grilled at the DCI for six hours as the sleuths attempted to establish how Ksh20 billion was lost in the white elephant projects.
