Skill police officers should learn before Monday

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has ordered members of the police force to prepare for the digitization of their systems.

IG Boinnet announced that police will be required to be conversant with making entries on the digitized Occurrence Book come Monday.

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i will officially launch the digitization process during an event in Nairobi on Monday.

According to IG Boinnet, personnel records will be migrated to the digital platforms followed by the OB and they will be operationalized.

"We shall also digitize all our administrative procedures and systems," Boinnet relayed during a press briefing on Thursday.

Embracing Change

In early December 2018, CS Matiang'i asked the police to embrace the new changes explaining that it will create greater efficiency within the force.

"This will help officers to manage and address some of the reported issues in real time. Embrace digital OB which is on the way," he stated at the time.

IG Boinnet also announced reshuffles among regional police bosses, appointing Philip Ndolo as the new regional commander of Nairobi.
