According to reports, the fire broke out at 4 am in the multi-storey dormitory.

Residents in the area were awoken by the screams from the institutions.

The number of injuries has not been confirmed yet and the fire has since been contained.

Confirming the incident Nairobi police commander Japheth Koome divulged that the cause of the inferno was yet to be established.
