Inspector General Joseph Boinnet on Thursday announced that Joseph Ndolo was appointed as the new Nairobi Regional Commander.

Ndolo replaces Joseph Ole Tito who had been serving as the police commandant since February last year.

The other 7 regional commanders to be appointed by Boinnet namely are:

·        Mr Marcus Ocholla- Coast

·        Ms. Eunice Kihiko- Eastern

·        Ms Judy Jebet Lamet- Central

·        Mr Edward Mwamburi- Rift Valley

·        Mr Paul K. Soi- North Eastern

·        Mr. Vincent Makokha- Nyanza

·        Mr. Rashid A. Yakub- Western

Boinnet reiterated that the changes depicted the gender balance and ethnic parity.

The police boss further stated that the replaced bosses would retain their ranks but will be deployed elsewhere in the police unit.

Japeth Koome gets new role

In February 2018, the force witnessed a similar reshuffle that saw a total of 43 senior officers moved.

Former Nairobi County Commander Japeth Koome was made Principal Deputy to Edward Mbugua who is the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in-charge of Kenya Police.

Joseph Ole Tito who the Commandant at the Anti Stock Theft Unit was replaced by Damji Kodi who served as the General Staff Officer (GSU).
