'I can kill them' - latest comment by State House intruder Brian Bera raises concern

State House intruder Brian Bera on Wednesday left a judge concerned after he stated that he could kill officers and doctors.

Bera, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, asked the judge not to commit him to a medical facility because he "can kill them".

Magistrate Andayi later ruled that Bera was still unfit to stand trial and recommended further medication before he is brought before the court again on October 9.

"The accused still requires medical attention and therefore he is still not fit to take a plea.

"Bera appears to be unwell and he should be put under mediation for two months," the judge ruled.

Brian Bera seeking protection from his father

Bera asked the court to bar his father David Bera from getting involved in his life, arguing that he is an adult and can take care of himself.

Magistrate Andayi, however, did not heed the plea and further directed that the suspect be placed under his father's care during the time he will be committed to a mental facility.

The young Bera was shot and injured after he attempted to cross over a State House wall seeking to reach President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He told the court that he had wanted to access the President on behalf of jobless youth.
