Mr. Amek was rushed to Homa Bay Teaching and Referral hospital after the deadly attack next to his gate in Sofia Estate. He was then reportedly transferred to Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu.

Confirming the reports, County Assembly Clerk Bob Kephers told a local station that he received the news at 8 pm.

It is not yet clear the extent of his injuries.

Meanwhile, Homa Bay County Police Commander Marius Tum divulged that investigations have been launched.
