In a Memo issued to employees, Royal Media Services announced that it had intentions of drastically slashing down its number of employees.

Part of the memo read” In the past two years we have witnessed various developments within the broadcasting industry that have adversely affected our business environment.

As a result, the company is left with no choice but to re-organise its operations. That includes rationalization of the various departments.

Unfortunately and regrettably, the action will result in the reduction of our work force through job redundancies.”

They won’t exactly be sacked but will face retrenchment, a situation where people are given the option to leave voluntarily immediately and get retrenchment benefits.

Among those facing retrenchment includes Kirigo Ng'arua, Terryanne Chebet, Elizabeth Omolo (Loius Otieno’s mum), Kenani Victor and Shisia Wasilwa.

According to our sources, Janet Mbugua could be replacing Terryanne Chebet on Citizen TV’s Business Centre.
