The EACC investigators, accompanied by police, raided Kidero's home at 2am on Thursday morning and are said to be hunting for cash and documents relating to a graft case against the former city boss.

On August 8th, Kidero was arrested and later charged in court over allegations of corruption while serving as Nairobi Governor.

Director of Public Prosecutions,  Noordin Haji said he had been satisfied that the former Governor and his co-accused were “criminally culpable jointly and severally.”

“The DPP has accordingly directed the Commission to proceed and have the named persons immediately arrested and arraigned in court to answer to various charges of corruption and related economic crimes,”  the EACC said in August.
