Speaking after the IAAF London championships where Kenya bagged five gold medals and finishing second with a total of 11 medals, Korir explained that they are out to look for fresh steeplechase talents.
He specifically singled out the 2015 world 3000m steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi in his talk. "We are sourcing 3000m steeplechase talent to fill Kemboi's gap. He has been active for almost 15 years."
Kemboi finished 11 in the 2017 London championship.
