Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is back in court seeking to have police barred from arresting him.

In court papers, the legislator has named one Bernard Omondi Ogoji claiming that Ogoji is attempting to revive a past dispute that was settled out of court.

Babu accused Mr Ogoji of attempting to extort more money from the MP by reviving robbery with violence charges from 2015.

In what may be presumed to be blackmail, MP Owino claims that Bernard has demanded a certain sum of money in exchange for leaving the matter to rest.

Babu notes that Bernard begun making attempts to revive the five-year-old charges soon after the shooting incident at B-Club.

The attempted murder charges against Babu are still active in court after he was released on Sh10 million bail which included medical fees for the injured DJ.

The bail amount was later reduced to Sh5 million with the MP allowed to settle the amount in installments.
