Ordinary Kenyans have also called on president Uhuru to practice what he preaches and desist from petty politics of insults and name-calling.

Following Uhuru Kenyatta’s ugly spat yesterday at Lodwar where he referred to the democratically elected governor of Turkana, hon. Josphat  Nanok as a devil and an idiot among other unpalatable things, some opposition leaders have now come out and said the president was completely out of order.

“This shows that the President is ignorant and lacks the ability to handle difficult matters.” Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament, Timothy Bosire said.

Bosire also wondered why Uhuru had resorted to abusing doctors who are fighting for their constitutional rights yet they have not broken any law to warrant condemnation from the President.

“They [doctors] have followed the Constitution. Which section of the Constitution is the President invoking by showing us temper,” Bosire asked.

Other leaders who were not amused by the president remarks included Busia woman representative Florence Mutua) and MPs, Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja) and Geoffrey Odanga (Matayos).

Mutua laughed off the government’s threat to sack local doctors and seek expatriates.

“These threats are empty and wherever the doctors are they should know that they are about to strike a deal,” she said.

Odanga on his hand called the president a bluff. Adding Kenya cannot hire medical practitioners from other countries yet the said countries are struggling to meet the universally accepted doctor-patient ratio.

“There are no doctors in Tanzania in excess to come over, there are no doctors in Cuba to come over, and all over the world doctors are not in excess anywhere. That is how angry, emotional and ignorant our President is,” he said.

The Ugunja lawmaker added Uhuru’s anger busts shows he is insensitive to the challenges Kenyans face.

Keeping in mind he is a role model they have urged him to better manage his anger.
