In a tweet that has since drawn the attention of many, Mr Nkaissery called on female politicians to be ready to fight in the male-dominated field they had delved in.

The CS firmly stated that the women should not be fainthearted but fight for themselves.

"You've entered a male territory so you must fight!Assert yourself,hapana tu kusema tunapigwa,pigana pia.Politics isn't for the fainthearted," Nkaissery said.

His remarks have since been interpreted differently with some condemning him for calling on women to be violent.

Other highlighted that Nkaissery ought to be investigated then prosecuted over the comment. This they said in light of the recent call by the minister to prosecute the ODM party leader Raila Odinga over his remarks on land in Kajiado.

At the same time, some noted that Nkaissery's statement was chauvinistic.

Nonetheless a section of the public supported the CS stating that he was simply speaking figuratively.
