Duale had over the weekend complained over the escalating dowry costs that have seen some men unable to marry.

“When one approaches to wed a lady, he is asked for $10,000 (Ksh. 1 million) worth of bride price. That is ridiculous, what are you buying, a Probox?” he said.

However, the comment did not go well with Mutunga - a respected human rights activist.

The former Chief Justice corrected the Majority Leader for comparing women to a Toyota Probox - a brand which he claimed was tainted with the perception of being preferred by rogue people.

"He has compared women to probox, that car popular with crooks and criminals!" Mutunga remarked on his Twitter handle.
