Property worth millions lost as fire razes shops and stalls in Rongai

Residents and traders living in Sweet water area, opposite the Ongata Mall in Rongai are counting losses after goods valued at millions were lost to fire outbreak early Wednesday 16th morning.

The cause of the inferno has not been identified but investigations are being carried out to determine what sparked the fire that reduced goods, stalls and shop to ashes.

Most residents were forced to abandon their belongings as they dashed off in fear of being caught in the fire. The affected traders are still counting their losses as most continue to lament about their misfortunes.

However the Nairobi county fire service arrived in time to control the fire before it spread widely to other places. They managed to help rescue parts of the goods, shops and stalls from the raging fire.
