Confusion over reports on Moses Kuria's resignation

Members of the press were on Thursday thrown off beat after they were tipped off on an alleged resignation by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

The reports propagated by the media claimed that the controversial MP had handed in his resignation letter to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi minutes before he addressed the press at the Parliament buildings.

In a bid to beat competitors to the punch, journalists and reputable media houses reported that the MP had quit his Gatundu South seat.

Kuria Denies Claims of Resignation

Moses Kuria denied the claims during his presser as he added that he was experiencing personal attacks since he made the comments on the president.

"I have continued to receive a barrage of personalized attacks from people with personal and political scores to settle with me.

"Whereas I have no problem with politicians taking opportunity to revive their dead or collapsing political careers, I am troubled that they are doing it in a manner that is designed to create a rift between myself and the President with whom I enjoy excellent relations and who is indeed one of the 72,000 voters from Gatundu South who are defacto employers," he stated.
