Led by Ahmednassir Abdullahi, the lawyers opined that all was not lost in the case.

He disclosed that a strong appeal could see most of the verdict overtuned and secure victory for Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino.

Top city lawyer Donald B. Kipkorir has also added his voice to the conversation, expressing hope that Babu will get victory in the court of appeal.

Through a post on Twitter, he stated that ”have now read in full the 63 page judgement nullifying the election of my friend Babu Owino…The Judge nullified the results on mainly two grounds: Violence in one Polling Station out of 207 stations& intimidation of the RO. If appealed, the Judgement will be overturned.”

Babu’s win was nullified by the High Court judge Joseph Sergon with the legal battle headed for the Court of Appeal.

Owino found himself in court after his win was challenged by Francis Muriithi of Jubilee. He however won the vote recount ordered by the court only for his election to be nullified.
