The brief post was adding to public debate over the appropriateness of plastering posters of politicians along Mombasa Road durign the concluded Blue Economy Conference.

Among those whose faces were plastered along the road are President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, members of the cabinet, all 47 elected governors and also senators.

In his post, Babu lamented that the government had dropped the ball on the "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity.

"We could have grabbed this lifetime opportunity to market various tourist destinations in our lovely nation during this Blue Economy conference instead of plastering faces of our politicians along Mombasa road like they'd market our nation or attract investors!" Babu's post read.

The post had already attracted a number of reactions from his followers including one particular gentleman who prompted the MP to respond.

Royd Bosire replied: "Grabbed? Are you kidding me...Wee bwana tusidanganyane (don't lie to us) this afternoon."

The follower who seemed to have misinterpreted Owino's tweet was met with, "Ok sir what exactly are you mad about?" from the MP.

Governor Sonko's Posters

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has come under heavy critism for lining the major highway with politicians' faces instead of pictures of Kenya's landscape like the oceans, lakes and rivers that were the focus of the conference.

Some residents went as far as to question why the governor did not put up posters of Kenyans who had brought a good name to the country such as outstanding athletes or award-winning professionals.
