1 dead 5 hospitalized after consuming alcohol

One person has been reported dead and five others receiving treatment in Bomet, after they took alcohol suspected to be poisonous.

According to Police, the six bought the alcohol from popular club in Bomet town.

The five are currently recuperating at a hospital in Bomet town.

3 children hospitalized

In December last year, three children were hospitalized in Bomet after they consumed chang'aa Christmas Day.

The two boys and a girl who were all under the age of 10, were found unconscious in a tea plantation in Kaproret village, Konoin Constituency before they were rushed to Kapkatet Sub-county Hospital where they received treatment.

Area residents said the children found the illicit brew hidden in a small tea farm as they were herding cattle.
