The president said the speech would only embarrass him since matters raised at the forum needed quick action rather than policy matters.

"Nilikua nimejipanga vile ntakuja kuwsomea speech hapa leo.. lakini vile nilikua  nimeambia wenzangu hapa leo hii mimi siwezi kusoma...Mimi nina aibu kubwa sana kwa sababu kwa ukweli hatujawatendea haki kulingana na ile mahitaji ambayo mko nayo," Kenyatta said.

The president blamed Government stakeholders for not considering the SMEs but instead focusing on established large-scale businesses.

Uhuru said that the SMEs, represent 75% of the country's workforce and it was high time the government sat and effectivey responded to the problems they were facing.
