According to reports, the Head of State will be kicking off his day two tour of the Nyanza region after breakfast.

Odinga had told a radio station that Kenyatta would meet a group of women leaders and open a Kenya National Housing Corporation (KNHC) project that involves putting up of houses in Kisumu.

"The president will have a busy day. He will speak about the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway line to Kisumu," Raila said.

He added that the President will also pay homage to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Mausoleum Museum in Bondo.

Honorary Degrees

The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) will also honour the two with honorary degrees because their “handshake’ allowed innovators to work.

On Tuesday night, Mr Odinga said they “humbly accept the award.”

EALA MP Oburu Odinga confirmed the visit by President Kenyatta to Bondo stating that it was not political.

"Jomo Kenyatta used to visit our place frequently as he was a great friend of my father. We are happy that President Kenyatta is also visiting when he is the President,” Oburu said.

Oburu narrated how his father shed tears when he received news of the demise of former President Jomo Kenyatta's death.
