The two jointly attended the burial of three African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) bishops who perished in a tragic accident at the Embu-Makutano road.

During the burial, Ruto revisited the issue of cabinet appointments indicating that as the principal assistant to the president, he would continue supporting the president.

On his part, President Kenyatta steered off politics only stating that he and Ruto would continue to talk despite "the attacks against them".

At the same time, the DP thanked the Meru people for voting for the Jubilee government  in the last presidential election.

Local leaders called on the two leaders to ensure that the meru community was not left out when the full cabinet is announced.
