Police have launched investigations into a break-in incident which took place at the house of one of the Cuban doctors posted in Homa Bay County.

Dr Blanco Torres Marleni, a general physician, told police that she was in her bedroom at the time of the invasion into her home.

She narrated that the thieves took their time to prepare a meal as she listened in horror, afraid to raise alarm which would alert the criminals to her presence.

"They cooked food which was in the refrigerator and ate in the kitchen before they disappeared," she reported.

The incident allegedly took place at 2am on Wednesday an the thieves made away with her TV, microwave, blenders and kitchen equipment that is of unknown value.

Homa Bay County police commander Esther Seroney assured that Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives had been assigned to the case.
