The Philadelphia Flyers Built a ‘Rage Room’ Where Angry Hockey Fans Can Vent

The rage room, hidden behind a wall in the lounge area at Wells Fargo Center, is the first of its kind in a professional sports arena. Once they're in, Flyers fans are given protective gear to wear, along with hockey sticks and baseball bats in the black and orange team colors, which they can use to bash, whack and break everything in their vicinity. Some of the objects in the room even reveal the logo of opposing teams when broken, fuelling the frenzy for fans who might be in need of catharsis .

Wells Fargo Center allow fans to make reservations at the rage room in increments of five minutes at a time either before, after, or even during a home game (perfect if you know you're going to need to let loose after a particularly bad first period). Guests are given a bucket of items to break during the five minute slot. Tickets cost $35 each, or $60 for pairs... It could make a pretty novel date night for Flyers fans, actually.

"The concept is definitely one-of-a-kind and non-traditional," said Valerie Camillo, the Philadelphia Flyers' president of business operations. "We ran the concept by some of our fans who told us they thought this would be a fresh way to have some harmless fun."

Did we mention there's also an observation deck in the rage room? Gritty would surely approve of this safe, supervised way of venting your aggression.
