The tests dubbed 'intergrity exams' were recommended by the EACC in a report titled "Institutionalization of Ethics and Integrity and the Role of the Media".

According to the anti-corruption body, the regular exams, especially in corruption-prone departments, will reduce instances of the vice.

EACC's acting assistant director Erick Munyao added that the county administration should include a clause in the contract that would discourage corruption.

"Nairobi should develop a mechanism for holding heads of units responsible for corruption and unethical conduct in their units," Munyao stated.

Sonko Praised

The EACC boss lauded Governor Sonko for his efforts toward curbing corruption at City Hall adding that the former senator had accomplished more than his predecessor Dr Evans Kidero.

Depsite the praise from EACC, Sonko has landed in trouble over the status of contracts with members of his county cabinet.

MCAs discovered that a number of the CECs have been operating with either expired or non-existent contracts of service.
