The four perished when the matatu they were travelling in belonging to Bestline Sacco, lost control and veered off the road and landed in a ditch in Ngege Area.

Confirming the incident, Nyanza Traffic Commandant Andrew Naibei said the vehicle rolled several times killing three men and one woman on the spot.

Naibei said several people who had been injured in the accident were rushed to Nyabondo Mission Hospital while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Nyakach sub-County Hospital Mortuary.

Police have launched investigations to establish the cause of the accident.
