According to the Star, the veteran politician was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after he fell while at his home, a week ago.

Nyachae is said to have been complaining of severe chest pains before he was rushed to ICU for closer monitoring.

His son who is the current Judge of the East African Court of Justice, Charles Nyachae confirmed that the former minister was diagnosed with a chest infection.

“What I can tell you is that he complained of chest pains and was put in ICU,” he said.

Charles however refused to give more details on the illness.
