According to reports, the Shimo La Tewa Member of County Assembly, Bakari Ali Munyi, died as the bus raced past Machakos County to the City.

The person seated next to him told officers that he gasped for air before he went to a coma then died.

The bus driver continued for almost 30 kilometers where they called police to check the body. The police found three painkiller tablet in his pocket.

The 57-year-old was then transferred to City Mortutary.

Family members of the deceased divulged that he had heart related complications.

Mr Munyi had just lost in the ODM nominations and was reportedly headed to Nairobi to register as an independent candidate.

Police have launched investigations.
