The president’s move to nominate Rashid has surprised a section of Kenyans.

The former youth leader bolted out of the race for Mumias West parliament seat days after he defected from Jubilee back to ODM party in March 2017.

The ODM Youth leader was later suspended from the Orange Party for gross misconduct after he led demos to counter the anti-IEBC protest in Kakamega.

He was replaced with one John Ketora.
