Consumers that are found in possession of plastic bags will attract a fine of 2 million shillings while plastic manufacturers will attract a fine of 4 million shillings.

Many Kenyans were not effectively prepared for the ban and with such high stakes at risk, they have resulted to other alternatives for carrying their goods as seen in the photos below.
