Matiang'i appeared before the National Assembly's security committee to explain the handling of Miguna at JKIA.

One of the MPs sought to know why Miguna was detained in a toilet.

Kihalangwa, however, stated that Miguna was kept in a "comfortable facility" adding that the toilet where the lawyer was kept was self-contained.

He regretted that the only photo that was shared to Kenyans captured the NRM General captured the toilet.

"I want to assure honourable members that it is very unfortunate that the only photograph that was shown where Dr Miguna was staying was at the toilet. But that is a self-contained room, with a bed and a mattress. It was a very clean bedroom," Kihalangwa stated as Matiang'i's laughter was picked by an open mic.
