The High Court has issued new orders to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet over the security detail of NASA leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Judge Roselyn Aburili summoned CS Matiangi and IG Boinnet to appear in person to show cause why they should not be held in contempt of court for failing to reinstate Musyoka's security despite the court ordering them to do so.
Court orders
Earlier this month, the High Court blocked the government from withdrawing Musyoka's security detail and revoking his firearm.
Judge Aburili also barred the State from arresting Mr Musyoka in respect to having the firearm.
Musyoka had sued the government for revoking his firearm certificate and withdrawal of security detail terming it as ill intended, in bad faith with improper motive and without fairness.
The Wiper leader complained that the withdrawal of his security detail without notice was a blatant breach of the Retirement Benefits (Deputy President and Designated Officers) Act of 2015.
Musyoka added that the state had not written to him, as required by law when they also withdrew his firearm.
