Kibiwott Kandie & Ruth Chepng'etich win at the Istanbul Half Marathon

Kenyan long-distance runner, Kibiwott Kandie has won the Istanbul Half Marathon in 59 minutes and 35 seconds. 

The record holder beat Geoffrey Kamworor who came in second while Roncer Kipkorir came in third. 

In December 2020, Kibiwott won the Valencia Half Marathon and set a World Record time of 57 minutes and 32 seconds.

Ruth Chepng'etich took the lead in the Women's Marathon race in a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 2 seconds. 

The marathon world champion has beaten the previous record of 1hour, 4 minutes and 31 seconds set by Ethiopia's Ababel Yeshaneh in February 2020. 

Kenya’s Hellen Obiri came in third in a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 51 seconds.
