At the time of the accident, Khalwale was in the car with his wife.

The former Senator took to Twitter to share the harrowing experience and posted photos of his damaged car.

"My wife & I have luckily just escaped unhurt after some recklessly driver hit our car several times from the rear along Mombasa Rd," Khalwale tweeted.

The accident comes only seven months after Khalwale's wife and four of his children involved in yet another horrific accident at Kaimosi.

The vehicle, which had veered off the road, hit a banana tree before it landed by the roadside.
