The over 700 Registrar doctors refused to report to work after their colleague was suspended over the brain surgery mix-up.

A Registrar medic is one undergoing specialised training in order to become a consultant.

They demanded for the reinstatement of the suspended neurosurgeon and called on the KNH Board to resolve systemic failures at the largest referral hospital in the country.

The Registrar made the demands after a meeting with Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU).

The Union also reiterated the unconditional reinstatement of the neurosurgeon.
