Police arrest man in viral video assaulting female guard in Komarock

Police have arrested 30-year-old Justus Kamoja who was captured on CCTV assaulting a female security guard in Nairobi's Komarock Estate Phase 5A.

According to a brief from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), civilians played a key role in ensuring Kamoja was found.

"Mr Justus Kamoja who was captured on a video assaulting a female Security Guard at Komarock has been arrested.

"The 30yr old suspect will be arraigned in court once necessary Police action is complete. Many thanks to all those that contacted us!" the DCI statement read.

Justus gave female guard in Komarock contradicting information

The incident took place on Sunday. It has since emerged that Justus gave the security guard contradictory information that made her suspicious.

He at first stated that he was going to visit a friend at house number 42 then later stated it was house number 45.

The guard has been identified by one name, Damaris, she is said to have reported the incident at Kayole Police Station.
