It's true: Jenna Jameson lost a ton of weight on the keto diet ( 80 pounds , to be exact), but it hasn't always been smooth sailing for the 44-year-old mom.

In her latest Instagram post, Jenna says she's plateaued a few times on the keto diet: "I have hit several periods of zero movement on the scale," she wrote. "It's normal," she added, saying the body goes through ups and downs all the time from hormones, water weight, and even "having to poop." (She's right: Your weight goes up and down all the time .)

But plateaus are more than that: "What do you do if you don't see progress for weeks or even months?" she asks, before offering up her own tips on how she gets past weight loss plateaus.

Her first step? Cutting dairy (yes, even on the keto diet). "Dairy can be problematic for people because they overdo it!" she wrote. "Cut it and it usually kickstarts weight loss again."

If that doesnt do the trick, she recommends moving on to intermittent fasting, an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. Jenna eats "hearty, healthy keto meals" from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. before fasting. "Its important to listen to your body and adjust your fasting accordingly," she said.

Finally, Jenna said that its important to stop eating foods that effect you negatively-even if theyre classified as good by the eating plan youre following. There are certain foods that are keto that just dont sit well with me, she said. For me, almond flour can really mess with my tummy. Not sure why. I feel bloated and yucky if I indulge. So I rarely eat it.

Overall, Jenna said youve just got to listen to your body. Moral of this post, connect to your body... listen closely and adjust, she wrote. And honestly, that's her best advice yet-to respect your body and fuel it the way it wants to be fueled.
