Four commissioners on Wednesday September 6, opposed the new team selected by IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati to oversee  the fresh presidential elections claiming that they were not aware and that they only found out about the new team after they were picked.

IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe on Wednesday divulged that some officials in the electoral body refused to resign forcing Chebukati to pick a new team he trusted.

According to Akombe, the officials who refused to resign were the ones linked to mishandling the election process. “In a normal democracy, people would have introspected, they would have opted to step aside. They have failed to do that. They have refused,” Akombe revealed. IEBC on Tuesday September 5, released the list of officials to oversee the fresh presidential elections.

The Court has however declined to issue order sort by Chiloba and other officers.

The matter will be heard on September 20.
