Fresh orders for police guarding Sonko at the Nairobi Hospital

Anti-terrorism Police Unit officers guarding former Governor Mike Sonko at the Nairobi Hospital have been issued with a new order.

A Kahawa Court on Tuesday issued an order barring the officers from questioning the former Governor.

The court further ordered that the governor return to face the terrorism charges against him as soon as he has been discharged from hospital.

Kahawa West Chief Magistrate Diana Mochache adjourned the matter to February 26, 2021.

The instructions follow a medical report submitted by the private facility after the former Governor failed to appear for two subsequent hearings.

The report indicated that Sonko is still unwell and his condition needs to be managed in hospital.
