Christie Brinkley's dancing career just got cut short.

The Sports Illustrated model announced that she'll no longer be competing on 'Dancing With the Stars' even though tonight is the big premiere. Christie, 65, broke her arm in rehearsals (which is a major shame because I was looking forward to her costumes after peeping that blue bodysuit on Instagram earlier in the week).

This announcement comes shortly after this post where Christie shared her excitement about the upcoming season. Christie wrote, "Im so excited for tomorrows show! @dancingabc To live without risk is to risk not living.- Pope Pius"

Fans looking forward to seeing Christie dance won't be too disappointed. Her daughter and 21-year-old look-alike, Sailor Brinkley-Cook will be taking her place. "Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on Dancing with the Stars this season," Brinkley told Good Morning America . "Sailor joined the cast when I got mineouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh!"

GMA's Ginger Zee shared a tweet about the moment Sailor learned of her mother's injury. She was actually getting on a plane to come support Christie when she called and told her that she shattered her arm. I need you to step in & save the day, Christie said.
