The two Wareng Luxury Sacco 14-seater matatus were blocked and stoned by some youth, raising concerns of the motive.

The two vehicles were allegedly heading to Eldoret from Kericho and were stoned at Chemili trading centre by rowdy youth.

The unfortunate incident comes in the wake of peace talks by Kisumu County Governor Prof Anyang Nyong’o with his Kericho counterpart Mr Paul Chepkwony.

The duo – from Nasa and Jubilee – struck a deal to end the security stalemate at the border of the two counties and is not clear who the occupants of the stoned vehicles were.
