Netizens have expressed mixed reaction after singer Kevin Bahati and his wife Diana Marua took them on a ride with a fake breakup in the quest to promote their new song #Mtaachana Tuu.

For the better part of this week, Bahati and Diana have been a trending topic, on social media, after staging a fake break-up, to promote a new song.

Marua went to the extent of sharing a black rose that in most cases signifies the end of a relationship, only to turn out that they were clout chasing.

Kenyans On Twitter (KOT), made Bahati’s name a top trend, with a section lecturing him for duping Kenyans, while others pointed out that it's time artistes start being creative with the way they promote their songs.

The #MtaachanaTuu song is a dedication to critics who are always dictating how the two should live their life. In the song, they brag about how they are determined to stay together forever, until old age catches up with them.
