In a tweet on Tuesday, the lawyer said that the DCJ was innocent and the government was following the Supreme Court’s nullification of the August 8, 2017 General election.

“The worst looters in Kenya are Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi, Mwai Kibaki, , , and others; NOT the Deputy CJ Philemena Mwilu, who is in the dock PRIMARILY because the despots are REVISITING the Supreme Court's nullification of their theft,” read Miguna’s tweet.

His words come a few hours after DCJ Mwilu was arrested and arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court where she was charged for abuse of office for personal gain, corruption related activities and unlawful failure to pay taxes among others.

DCJ has since been released by the court on Sh5 million bond and asked to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

Justice Mwilu was represented by a battery of lawyers who included Siaya Senator James Orengo, John Khaminwa, Haron Ndubi, Daniel Maanzo, Nelson Havi, Julie Soweto, Jackson Adele, Edward Waswa and Okong'o Omogeni.
