Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has announced a water supply interruption lasting approximately 24 hours in several parts of Nairobi County.

According to NCWSC, the interruption has been necessitated by an unexpected infrastructure shutdown.

The utility provider in a notice on October 13 said the disruption follows an emergency shutdown of the NCT–Kigoro–Gigiri–Kabete pipeline.

In the advisory addressing customers, NCWSC explained the directive to halt operations along this vital corridor came from the Athi Water Works Development Authority (AWWDA) to pave the way for urgent infrastructure restoration.

“Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd wishes to inform its customers of the emergency shutdown of the NCT – Kigoro – Gigiri- Kabete pipeline by Athi Water Works Development Authority (AWWDA) to facilitate emergency repair works along the said line. The shutdown is expected to last for approximately 24 hours.”
