Jimmy Wanjigi Makes Drastic Move as Police Break into his House

Controversial businessman Jimmy Wanjigi on Tuesday took action as Recce Squad officers broke into his lavish home in Muthaiga using cutters and sledge hammers.

The officers, who had a search warrant, were looking for the billionaire believed to be hiding in a bunker inside the property.

Hours after the break in, Mr Wanjigi and his wife, Irene Nzisa, moved to court to block the police from arresting him and searching his property.

He wants Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet held liable for violation of rights & damage to property.

The business mogul has also sued Boinnet and the Director of Public Prosecution for raiding his Malindi and Muthaiga homes unlawfully.

According to the search warrant, police officers were permitted to search his Caramel Restaurant & Lounge at ABC Place along Waiyaki Way and Kwacha House in Westlands.

The officers are searching for firearms, explosives, ammunitions, documents related to importation of firearms among others.
