IEBC announces public portal for official results for Mbeere North, Kasipul, Malava and 19 other by-elections
Kenyans are heading to the polls today as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) conducts by-elections in Mbeere North, Kasipul, Malava and 19 other electoral areas across the country. The high-stakes vote, which includes parliamentary, senatorial and county assembly seats, is drawing national attention as parties test their strength ahead of 2027.

19:00pm: The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that all by-election results will be available on its official results portal.

In a brief update on X, the Commission shared the link: https://forms.iebc.or.ke and encouraged the public to access verified results directly from the platform as counting and tallying continue across the country.

17:00pm: Polling stations across all 24 by-election areas have officially closed at 5:00 pm.

IEBC officials have now begun counting votes at the respective polling centres.

Tallying is expected to continue into the evening, with provisional results trickling in from various stations.

The Commission has urged patience and calm as the process gets underway.

13:35 pm: The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has appealed to citizens and political leaders to maintain peace throughout today’s voting and the results-tallying period.

In a statement on X, the Commission said violence and intimidation “have no place in our democracy,” and called on security agencies to act decisively wherever breaches occur.

IEBC also urged the public to help protect the integrity of the vote as polling continues across the 24 by-election areas.

09:39 am: The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) says it is monitoring how police are conducting themselves across the various by-election areas today.

In a statement, the authority said the oversight is in line with Section 6(c) of the IPOA Act and aims to ensure officers uphold professional standards, protect public safety and operate within the law.

IPOA teams are already deployed in multiple regions to observe police behaviour throughout the polling process.
